COLUMBUS (WCMH) — NBC4 Columbus reporter Adrienne Robbins covered the May Day protest outside the Ohio Statehouse on Friday afternoon, as she was confronted by a protester informing her about the Ohio Coronavirus coverage station.
Robbins says that after moving closer to her, she asked the unidentified woman to respect social distance and shouted in her face as she emphatically accused Robbins of terrifying the public with her reporting of the fact.
The interaction was caught on camera by Laura Hancock, from Cleveland.com. “You know the American people are lying to the organization that you work for. And you know that, at the end of the day, what you do is wrong. You remember, never shake. You are terrifying the general public! “In the video the woman screamed, pointing in the face of Robbins.
In a live interview on NBC4, after she covered the Friday coronavirus briefing by Governor Mike DeWine, where he covered the latest Stay Healthy Ohio order that expands certain stay-at-home precautions while enabling the gradual reopening of the state’s economy, Robbins said she’s good and believes the extension of the order brings out a lot of emotions for people.
“The person who talked to me seemed to have a really big media issue and that was her main concern,” Robbins said. “Some people have an interest in their work and the decision to sit at home.”
