Oritsejafor was named the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)’s National President in 2010. He has been referred to as the President of CAN who is “most misunderstood.” On July 10, 2013, he was re-elected as president. He praises Oritsejafor in an interview with a CAN official for:

Because he has raised the profile of the Christian Association of Nigeria, this man should be celebrated by all. People used to talk down to CAN, but now you can’t just say that without CAN responding. That is a tremendous accomplishment. One of his greatest accomplishments is that he has interacted with all of the CAN blocs, something that has never happened before in the organization’s history. No bloc can claim that the CAN President has not visited them in person to worship or participate in one of their projects. Do you know that he provided housing and scholarships for some of the Christian leaders who were killed, such as some pastors in Maiduguri?

Ayo Oritsejafor Accusation

Oritsejafor has received a lot of criticism. Because of Oritsejafor’s support for the Church in Nigeria, freedom and equality, and terrorism after he was elected as the National President of CAN, a group that was not well known by Nigerians made headlines. In his testimony before a committee of the US Congress in 2012, sources stated that Oritsejafor’s only offense was leading Nigerian Christians in calling on the US Congress to label a “group of young men” a terrorist organization.

The “group of young men” was not only classified as a terrorist organization in 2014, but also as an International Terrorist Organization. Since the middle of 2009, the “group of young men” have also caused significant damage to territory. According to the Global Terrorism Index, the organization has killed more people: 6,644—more terror attacks than any other terrorist group in 2014. Those who were aware of Oritsejafor’s good intentions for the welfare of Nigerians stood up to all critics.
