Chris Burkard Biography
American photographer and artist Chris Burkard lives on the Central Coast of California. He captures images of outdoor, travel, surf, lifestyle, and landscape subjects.
Burkard creates editorial projects using a photojournalistic method and a variety of mediums. To capture situations that are humanizing, he uses natural light.
In addition to Iceland, Norway, the Faroe Islands, India, Cuba, New Zealand, Russia, Switzerland, and Italy, Burkard specializes in taking pictures in chilly locales. One of the biggest travel influencers is Burkard.

Burkard spent four months as an intern at Transworld Surf Magazine in 2006 before being hired as an assistant photo editor. At the age of 21, Burkard was hired as the senior staff photographer at the California-based worldwide surf forecasting and content website Surfline in 2008.
Prior to his resignation in 2010, he was also employed at the time as a senior staff photographer at Water Magazine. 2010 saw the hiring of Burkard by Surfer Magazine. He has been the senior staff photographer since May 2013.
