Chris Lowe is a retired Scottish-born news presenter who, before his retirement on 4 January 2009, worked for BBC News for 37 years. BBC News 24 was covered by Lowe with Joanna Gosling on Friday from 1830 to 2200 and on Saturday and Sunday from 1900 to 0000. He joined the BBC as a graduate journalist trainee in 1972, the same day as Jeremy Paxman.

His work for the BBC later brought him as far as Ethiopia and Argentina.

His last work for the BBC before his retirement in 2009 saw him appear on the BBC News Channel between 7 pm and 10 pm on Fridays and between 7 pm and 12 midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Chris Lowe Outside Career

Lowe was an elected member of the Middlesex County Cricket Club Executive Board (2010-2019), and is a former chairman of the Dining Club. He is a lifelong Crystal Palace supporter. He also chairs daily The Cricket Society forums for which he was named vice-president in 2006, a role he shares as of 2015 with Derek Underwood and Tim Rice.
