Christy Henderson Biography
Christy Henderson is a chief meteorologist and a journalist who has won Emmy Awards. She is a member of the meteorology team of WSPA. In 2003, Christy started working here.
Monday through Friday, 4,5,6,7,10, and 11 p.m. Waco, a Texas-based company, is where she began her career. She spent eight months as the weekend meteorologist at this station.
Christy later relocated to New Orleans and worked for WVUE, the Fox
Affiliate. She worked there for more than three years as the weekend meteorologist before being elevated to predict the weather for the next day at 5 pm. During Hurricane Danny’s 1997 passage across Southeast Louisiana’s Plaquemines Parish, Christy was broadcasting live.
She also reported on hurricane Georges’s threat to New Orleans’ coastal communities before it made landfall close to Biloxi. This occurred in 1998. She is also a trained meteorologist and a member of the American Meteorology Society.
