Shuster responded Friday in typical fashion as if it was no big deal, resorting to the favorite cliche of the modern-day athletes he has covered. What would you do? From his northern suburban home, he said. “Whatever it is is, it is.”

Shuster does not harbor any ill will against his former station, where he had been employed for two decades. He said he recognized the situation the company was in, contrasting it to the stay-at-home orders triggered by restaurant-industry layoffs.

David Schuster Winnebago

The first person in the state to be charged with violating the governor’s emergency COVID order on dine-in service in restaurants and bars is a bar owner in Winnebago in south-central Minnesota.

An officer saw four men playing cards and drinking inside a closed Shooter’s Lounge. In Faribault City, owner David Schuster faces misdemeanor charges.

Schuster was allegedly uncooperative and called the order of the governor “communism.” Seven others were charged with misdemeanor violations of the orders of the governor.

Teresa Nelson with the Minnesota Union of American Civil Liberties says it is “discouraging” and “the last resort should be criminal charges.” Walz has consistently emphasized that the first choice should be education.

David Shuster Filmed CNN Pilot | MSNBC Threatens Punishment

It is no secret that CNN has suffered in the ratings: the prime time of the network shows that all saw major drops for the quarter just ended, headlined by the 43 percent decline of Larry King from a year earlier.

As Gillette says, whether the Shuster-Martin pilot ever comes to fruition “is a toss-up.” But it is a sign that Shuster, an MSNBC traveler who recently ceded an hour in the afternoon to make way for the transfer of Dylan Ratigan to 4 PM (despite gaining some rating momentum in the hour), may start searching for opportunities outside the network he has been calling home since 2002. Before switching to local news and then Fox News, where he worked from 1996-2002, he started his career at CNN in the 1990s.

“If real, this is unreasonable and David will be adequately punished,” Gaines told Brian Stelter of the Times.
