Delta Burke Biography
American actor, producer, and author, Delta Burke is also a writer. She played Suzanne Sugarbaker in the CBS sitcom Designing Women from 1986 to 1991, for which she received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
Burke also appeared on Filthy Rich (1982–1983), Delta (1992–1993), Women of the House (1995), and DAG on television (2000–01).
In addition to appearing in the 2000 feature What Women Want and the drama series Boston Legal, she has created and performed in made-for-TV movies (2006–07).
She has additionally been on Broadway in the musicals of Steel Magnolias and Thoroughly Modern Millie (2005).

Burke earned the senior distinction “Most Likely to Succeed” and graduated from Colonial High School in 1974. She won the Miss Flame title from the Orlando Fire Department in 1972, then went on to become State Miss Flame.
She became the youngest Miss Florida titleholder in festival history when, during her final year of high school, she has crowned Miss Florida for 1974. Burke was given the opportunity to attend the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for two years, thanks to a talents scholarship she received from the Miss America Organization.
