But the tech landscape built on her home turf seemed to change just as she was departing. However, she traded sunny, suburban Bay Area life for seven years in the bustling metropolis of Manhattan.
From 2014-2018 she worked her way up the U.S. News service at NBC in 30 Rockefeller Center. She started off as an intern on Morning Joe, working her way to desk assistant with the NBC Nightly News team, before managing a whole new division- business and technology- for NBC News in New York City.
Additionally, As an associate producer, she was one of the news network’s go-to sources for economic policy, retail trends, Wall Street volatility, and all things technology. She was delighted to gain her independence during the project. She was able to develop stories from concept all the way to air on NBC Nightly News, TODAY Show, and MSNBC.
Emma went back to California in April 2018 for a chance at on-air reporting. There she was a general assignment reporter every weekday at 5 pm and 6 pm for KBAK Eyewitness News in Bakersfield.
In 2020, Emma started a new job in a community that was at the center of the COVID-19 pandemic. She took on a new role as part of a global shift towards more people doing their jobs remotely.
