Flavour Career

Flavour’s musical journey commenced at the young age of 13 when he started playing the drums for his church choir in Enugu. It was during this time that he met Chris I. Ordor, the CEO of SoundCity Communications, who became a supportive friend through the introduction of their resident pastor. His talent and passion for music led him to earn a scholarship for music studies and eventually join the company in 1996.

After three years of dedicated practice, Flavour became a professional drummer, but later shifted his focus to playing the keyboard. He also contributed his vocals to support other SoundCity musicians. At 19, he joined a local band in Enugu, showcasing his skills as a drummer and pianist. The turning point came when he was offered a gig at City Centre, Enugu, where the enthusiastic response from the large crowd motivated him to reach new heights in his music career.

Flavour’s solid musical foundation allowed him to receive music production guidance from Dekumzy, Isi Charles, and Nnachie. In 2005, he released his debut album, “N’abania,” through Obaino Music. Though it achieved relative success mainly in the eastern part of Nigeria, particularly in Enugu State, the album’s lead single, “N’abania,” featuring Mr. Raw, made an impact.

On 18 October 2012, Flavour released his album “Blessed” under 2nite Entertainment and iROCKING LTD. This album, with an array of producers involved, became his most successful work to date. In 2018, Flavour collaborated with Mama Africa, Yemi Alade, releasing two singles: “Crazy Love” and “Yemi Alade.” Later that year, he released the traditional song “Awele,” featuring the Igbo traditional duo Umu Obiligbo. On December 4, 2020, Flavour unveiled his seventh studio album, “Flavour of Africa,” comprising 16 tracks, showcasing his continuous evolution and musical prowess.
