Jones Raised up just outside of Cleveland, Ohio Jake always knew he wanted to serve in sports, beginning with his high school broadcasting class, WEHS. Jake began shooting highlights as a high school freshman when he was the varsity basketball team’s manager and recorded each game for film study.
After transitioning into his school’s broadcasting class, Jake moved on to the University of Toledo, where he majored in Communication, with a specialization in broadcasting. During his time at UT, Jake worked for the athletic department as a videographer and reporter, helping cover any and all sports the school has gone on.
After graduation, Jake started his career as a photographer and editor for the station he brought up watching as a kid in Cleveland, WJW. After 9 months, however, Jake earned the opportunity of a lifetime to start his on-air career serving as a sports reporter in Helena, Montana.
Jake spent two and a half years covering high school and college sports, Prior to traveling to Billings, Montana to become the weekend sports anchor at KULR, where he spent three years learning from Montana sports broadcasting legend, Chris Byers. But when the Midwest, came calling, Jake couldn’t resist moving back to be the newest member of the Sportszone.
When Jake is not working, he is usually playing with his dogs, going to the movies, or playing games. He edited videos and packages for shows, besides serving as a photographer for reporters where he would shoot the video for them before editing.
Jones Covered sports for KFBB as the Helena bureau sports reporter. Therefore, he was in charge of providing content for all the local high schools in Lewis and Clark County. Besides covering Carroll College as a multimedia journalist.
