When The Biggest Loser premiered in October 2004, Michaels was a trainer on the show. She took on the role of Red Team trainer on the show, which she kept for the first two seasons. Kim Lyons took her place when she resigned in 2006. In 2007, she returned to the show as a trainer for the Black Team, which was competing against the Red Team of Lyons and the Blue Team of Bob Harper. From 2006 to 2008, Michaels worked alongside Harper as a trainer on the show’s Australian version.
Michaels made the announcement via Twitter on December 7, 2010, that the eleventh season of the show would be her last. On May 24, 2011, Michaels made her final appearance on The Biggest Loser. It was announced on September 4, 2012, that Michaels would return to The Biggest Loser for Season 14. Michaels also returned for Season 15, which debuted on October 15, 2013, on NBC; however, he did not return for Season 16, which debuted in the fall of 2014.
