Jim Cramer is an American television personality who hosts Mad Money on CNBC. Previously, before joining CNBC, James worked as the hedge fund manager as well as an author and a co-founder of TheStreet.com.
Cramer started his schooling at Springfield Township High School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Cramer started as a sold Coca-Cola salesperson and then ice cream at Veterans Stadium during Philadelphia Phillies games. Cramer started a hedge fund company in 1987 after leaving Goldman Sachs. The Hedge fund operated out of the offices of Michael Steinhardt. Its first investors included friend and classmate Eliot Spitzer, Steve Brill, and Martin Peretz. Cramer helped raise $450 million in $5 million increments and collected a fee of 20% of the profits he generated. James says he had sold all of his stocks on the Friday before Black Monday 1987.
