Julia Duffy is an American actress best known for her role as Stephanie Vanderkellen on the ’80s sitcom Newhart. She has had a long and varied career in television, film and stage, with appearances in movies such as Battle Beyond the Stars as Mol,  Maybe Baby as Casey and Menu for Murder as Susan. In addition to her work in television, she has also worked extensively on Broadway, appearing in productions of the American Housewife as Amanda Otto and Looking as Dana Murray.

The Minnesota-born actress got her start in 1979 when she was cast as a series regular on the ABC soap opera Ryan’s Hope. After gaining recognition from that role, Duffy went onto star alongside Bob Newhart in the beloved comedy series Newhart for seven successful seasons.
