She’s a small-town girl from Decatur, Indiana, who graduated from Bellmont High School and got her degree in Journalism at Butler University. Krista got her start in radio news, but soon made the jump to television news at NBC33.
After four years in Fort Wayne, Krista decided to spice things up and head to Wichita, Kansas, where she met and married her co-anchor Brien McElhatten. Yes, you heard that right. They are a married anchor team and living proof that you can work together and still be happily married.
After a couple of years in Kansas, Krista decided it was time to head back home and start a new chapter at ABC21. She’s settled back into life in Fort Wayne with her husband, their German Shepherd Scout, and (most importantly) being close to her parents.
