Hey, hey, hey, rise and shine Dayton! Let me introduce you to the fabulous Lauren Wood, a morning co-anchor on 2NEWS Today, alongside Zac Pitts, Kelley King, and the super talented Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik.
This Ohio native has been all over the state, working in different TV stations, and making a name for herself. She started her career while still in college at Ohio State, producing at WCMH. Then she traveled southeast Ohio to work as a reporter and anchor at WSAZ, and finally made her way up to Youngstown, where she spent four years as an anchor at WKBN before joining us here in Dayton.
But that’s not all, folks. Lauren’s got some deep roots here in the Miami Valley. She was born and raised in Gallipolis, just a quick drive down US-35. And get this, her grandmother was a Shelby County native, and her grandfather worked at NCR. She’s practically royalty around here.
And Lauren’s got a soft spot for her family too. She and her high school sweetheart, Nathan, welcomed their daughter Lydia into the world in 2018. And let’s not forget her 120-pound rescue Newfoundland dog, Norm, who keeps everyone entertained.
When she’s not gracing our screens with her morning charm, Lauren enjoys teaching Lydia new things, exploring the outdoors, and trying out locally-owned restaurants. So if you see her out and about, make sure to say hi, Dayton!

Prior to moving to WDTN TV, She started her news profession as a producer at WCMH in Columbus, Ohio in the United States. Lauren later transferred to WSAZ in Huntington/Charleston, West Virginia where she served as a reporter and anchor. Later she transferred to WDTN’s sister station in Youngstown, WKBN where she served as a morning anchor. Wood moved toWDTN’s 2NEWS Today in 2017 and currently works as the morning co-anchor on 2NEWS Today alongside John Seibel and Jamie Jarosik.
Her work in television news has enabled her to travel all over the state. She began her profession while she was still in college at Ohio State, serving as a producer at 2 NEWS sister station, WCMH. Later she covered news in southeast Ohio at WSAZ, serving as a reporter and anchor. In 2013, Lauren moved to northeast Ohio, after getting married to her high school sweetheart, Nathan. She worked at the station for a period of four years as an anchor WKBN in Youngstown prior to that they made the move to Dayton.
During her free time and not in the office working, Wood together with her husband loves both cooking and trying out new restaurants, volunteering, exploring outdoor activities, traveling, and being involved in church. Her favorite television show is The Wonder Years. Lauren loves listening mostly to mellow classic rock type of music and Jackson Browne being her favorite artist. Her favorite book is any written by CS Lewis.
