That was one of the darkest moments of his life. Jones spoke about his humiliation in social settings, as well as the challenge of coming to grips with hearing aids.

Jones also mentioned how while spending time with friends and family, he used to fake smile and nod along. Additionally, hfelt incapable of participating as if he were losing out. His hearing aid was very impactful and encouraged him to get back to work. Furthermore, his return to the television, however, was noisy one as he could hear the director and correspondents in his right ear through an earpiece and an amplified, distorted echo of his own speech through the hearing aid at his left.
