Lindsay Ann Czarniak is a pro sports anchor who’s currently very prevalent in the Fox Sports TV and Nascar coverage field. She’s also a sideline reporter for NFL games.

Czarniak is a highly accomplished sportscaster who has covered some of the world’s biggest sporting events. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Lindsay studied broadcast journalism at James Madison University before beginning her career in Washington D.C. Since then, she has been applauded for her journalistic talent and captivating presence on the airwaves.

For the past decade, Lindsay Czarniak has been a prominent face in sports broadcasting. Starting her career as an anchor for WUSA-TV in Washington, DC, she quickly rose to become one of the top sports anchors in the nation. She went on to host and report for ESPN’s SportsCenter and College Football Live before moving over to NBC Sports Network.

Lindsay’s husband is journalist Craig Melvin, Lindsay married Washington, DC-based weekend anchor, news reporter, and journalist Craig Melvin on October 15th 2011. Craig is the host of Today and a co-host of the Third Hour on NBC News. However, on October 15, 2014, the couple had their first child, son Delano Melvin and In 2016, the little family experienced a new addition! Daughter, Sybil Ann.

Lindsay really enjoyed watching sports from a very young age. She started interning for WUSA when she was still a college student. Her career in broadcasting began with a stint working for CNN. Her first ever on-air reporting job was for WAWS in Florida’s Jacksonville.

She returned to the D.C area to join WRC-TV after she had got a call from George Michael to work as a sports anchor and a reporter. She then became the official co-host of The George Michael Sports Machine in September 2006. Her first major assignment was to travel to Turin, Italy to cover the 2006 Winter Olympics for NBC Sports.
After the murder of Sean Taylor in November 2007 she became the first reporter to interview team players of the Washington Redskins.

On July 17 2008 Lindsay was honored at the Reading Phillies at Bowie Baysox doubleheader where she threw the first pitch. She has also been a pit reporter and studio host for TNT’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage and a former co-host and reporter for the syndicated The George Michael Sports Machine.

On June 23rd, 2011 Lindsay was to leave WRC-TV to go work at ESPN. She made her final broadcast on July 13 and on August 19 made her debut on SportsCenter by covering the evening preseason football games. On April 24th, 2013 it was revealed that Lindsay was going to become the first woman to host the ESPN/ABC telecast as she was replacing Brent Musburger. Her contract later expired on August 2017.
