Laura and Euna were freed by North Korea on August 4, 2009, following a visit from former US President Bill Clinton. Later, Lisa and Laura Ling collaborated on a book called “Somewhere Inside: In May 2010, the book One Sister’s Captivity in North Korea and the Other Sister’s Fight to Bring Her Home was published.
