While at UConn, Luke served as a Staff Writer at The Daily Campus, the largest daily-published college newspaper in the state. Furthermore, he worked as a multimedia journalist and later as News Director at UCTV, the university’s on-campus, student-run TV station.
In June 2020, Luke won the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists College Contest for video storytelling for his feature on the UConn Fire Department. Additionally, he attended and reported on the Edward R. Murrow awards banquet in New York City, one of the most prestigious awards in broadcast journalism.
He is responsible for the news department staff and oversees content creation within the news department. Luke also acted as a multimedia journalist and conducted long-form interviews, such as with UConn President Thomas Katsouleas and Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg. Moreover, he won the 2020 Connecticut Society of Professional Journalist video storytelling award for UCTV News: Behind the Scenes of the UConn Fire Department.
