Mark had always been interested in the weather from a young age and one of his favorite jobs was visiting TV stations when he got the chance with his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 8, he was a Cub Scout and participated in various scouts’ activities. It is no surprise that he enjoyed studying the weather as a young man. As an intern at KJRH-TV, he studied meteorology as he attended Oklahoma City University nearby. He eventually enrolled in Oklahoma University one of the best for weather research & forecasting and is now one of the top meteorologists in this country.
His experience of the severe weather in Tornado Alley has given him lots of experience with all areas of severe weather since he grew up and lived in Oklahoma before moving to Arkansas. For over a decade, he has made Connecticut his home and has worked with Bruce DePrest, a New England weather forecaster for more than 30 years, to refine his forecasting skills in the realm of winter storms.

Mark has been nominated for multiple Emmy awards for his weather anchoring and won the award for “Best Weathercast” from the Connecticut Associated Press Broadcaster’s Association several times. He is also a member of the American Meteorological Society.
After he graduated college, Mark moved to Little Rock, Arkansas for his first full-time job. During this time he won the Associated Press award “Best Weather Segment” for a summer heat demonstration. He also played an active role in the conception and development of his television station’s weather net.
