Mary Ann Childers, a former newscaster, is now an American media consultant. From 1980 to 1994, she anchored at WLS-TV in Chicago, becoming the first woman to anchor a top-rated 10pm newscast in Chicago. Later, from 1994 to 2008, she worked as a reporter and anchor at WBBM-TV, also in Chicago.

Childers grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and during her senior year at Northwestern University in 1974, she interned at WGN-TV in Chicago, which led her to her first broadcasting job. After her internship ended, she worked as an associate producer for The Phil Donahue Show, which was being filmed at the WGN studios. Subsequently, she worked as a news anchor at WAVE in Louisville and WTHR in Indianapolis, before joining WLS-TV in 1980 as a weekend anchor.

By 1986, Childers and John Drury were co-anchoring the top-rated 10pm news broadcast in Chicago. In 1994, Childers chose not to renew her contract with WLS and instead joined WBBM-TV.

Childers and 17 others were laid off on March 31, 2008, due to cost-cutting measures throughout the CBS news division. Afterward, she joined the Res Publica Group, a strategic communications firm. Childers is married to Jay Levine, a journalist who worked with her at WLS and WBBM, and they were married in 1989. At one time, the couple served as co-anchors on WBBM.
