Maureen Maher is a well-known American TV personality who is both a television anchor and correspondent. She currently plays both positions in the television program of the American documentary/news magazine, 48 Hours Mystery.

Maher was born in Michigan, near Detroit. Her birth parents were still in high school and couldn’t take care of her, so they gave her up for adoption. She went to Loyola University and got a degree in communications in 1991.

Maureen Maher has worked in broadcasting for a long time. She started out working for a radio station in Chicago in 1991, where she would tell people the news in the morning. Maher has led international and national adoption investigations since being assigned to the “48 Hours” team in 2003, anchored an in-depth study on the reasons behind a crime increase in Chicago, and investigated and helped to solve cold cases.

The vast knowledge of Maher’s journalism includes reporting on the war on terror; the collapse of the Taliban in Afghanistan; the hotel bombing in Kenya in 2002; the Enron scandal; the Kosovo crisis; and many relevant national headlines, such as wildfires and hurricanes.

Maher was a Dallas-based reporter for CBS News from 1999-2002 until joining “48 Hours,” where she worked mostly for the “CBS Evening News.”
