Miguel Education

Miguel Sure Thing
His song is titled “Sure Thing” was written by him and is on his debut album, All I Want Is You (2010), which Happy Perez produced. In 2008, it was first uploaded to YouTube. In January 2011, it was released to radio as the album’s second single. The R&B song has neo-soul influences and has been compared to singer Jon B for its similarities. It has only had moderate success in the United States so far, but it has since topped the US R&B charts. Before the release of “Adorn” in 2012, Miguel’s most successful single to date was “Sure Thing,” which was his first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and spent more than fifty weeks on the chart.
The song has sold 1,106,000 copies in the United States as of July 2013. Over ten years after its initial release, the song has started charting worldwide as a global sleeper hit following a resurgence in streaming due to its growing use on TikTok. It has also re-entered the Billboard Hot 100, eventually reaching a new peak of 30.
Miguel Sure All I Want Is You
His debut studio album is called All I Want Is You. ByStorm Entertainment, owned and operated by music industry executive Mark Pitts, who had signed Miguel to the label, released it on November 30, 2010. He worked with producers Dre & Vidal, Fisticuffs, Happy Perez, State of Emergency, and Salaam Remi on the album after signing with ByStorm in 2007.
Due to legal issues with the singer’s former production company, Jive put it on hold for two years. It didn’t do well when it came out, but singles like “Sure Thing” and the title track helped it become a sleeper hit on the Billboard 200. By September 2012, 404,000 copies had been sold. The reviews for All I Want Is You were positive; While praising Miguel’s singing and songwriting abilities and drawing comparisons to Prince, critics found some of the music to be inconsistent. Miguel accompanied fellow R&B singers Usher and Trey Songz on tour to promote the album.
