Mike Wolfe was not raised up in a bed of roses as many may imagine. His mother was too busy trying to care for the family. She was hardly at home.   Wolfe spent his after-school hours at the age of four looking for antique items from the barn and junk dumps of his neighbor. That quickly became a hobby soon after.

Wolfe had a keen eye to distinguish garbage from valuables and his family was continually shocked at what he discovered. He became very good at his craft from there, and eventually opened his own antique shop called Antique Archaeology. Wolfe would repair items with the experience that would make them look as good as new and then sell them to antique shops.

Mike had already rooted herself in the world of collecting from the young age of six. He would spend much of his free time walking through the barns and dumpsites of people searching for antique items. Many of his finds were retro bikes, which had sparked his interest in biking art.

Mike wasn’t one to shy away from challenges, he began professional racing and want to say he was good at that. He got his driving license immediately; the TV star purchased a van in which he would drive to faraway towns in search of anything he could sell. By then, the clientele of Mike proliferated and easily pleased them, and that’s when Antique Archaeology came into being.

Mike thought he wanted to share his story more, so he wrote his first novel, Kid Pickers, and American Pickers. A Guide to Picking that could inspire young collectors.
