Munchetty ‘s television career started as a reporter for Reuters Financial Television, during which she worked as a senior producer for CNBC Europe, a Channel 4 News business manager and reporter, and a Bloomberg Television presenter.
After the show was revamped in October 2008, Munchetty joined Working Lunch and remained with the program until it was canceled in July 2010 Munchetty hosted Money Box on Radio 4. She also reports to BBC News from the Region, gauging the response to breaking financial stories like the Budget, and the Pre-Budget Survey.
Munchetty has been delivering early morning updates (UKT) on the BBC News Channel and on BBC World News since August 2010. She is a regular BBC One’s Breakfast presenter.
In September 2010 Munchetty co-hosted The Budget Analysis – The South Today Debate with Sally Taylor on BBC One.
Munchetty also presented Paranormal Investigation: Live on Living to celebrate Hallowe’en from 30–31 October 2010. She was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing’s fourteenth season, having been partnered with Pasha Kovalev and being voted out in week four (Sunday 16 October 2016). In October 2017, she co-presented Classroom Heroes of Britain with Sean Fletcher.
Munchetty joined the cast of CBBC sketch show Class Dismissed in 2017 playing a fictionalized version of herself as an instructor in Media Studies who works as a newsreader.

Naga was found to have violated the BBC’s guidelines in September 2019. It has been said she has been criticizing US President Donald Trump for alleged racism. Naga, that July, as she presented BBC Breakfast alongside Dan Walker, came up against Trump’s comments asking his critics to “go back” to the “places they came from.” She proclaimed:
The station has been criticized for its decision to uphold concerns about the comments Naga made. Celebrities and popular people like Lenny Henry and Adrian Lester have signed an open letter urging the organization to re-examine its decision against her. On September 30 in The Guardian, it was reported that the complaint had also been made against her co-host Dan Walker. But his remarks were not the subject of the BBC’s inquiry into the executive complaints unit (ECU). Tony Hall, who is the BBC’s director-general, reversed the decision later that day after taking a close look at it.
