Paul Heiney is a British radio and television reporter best known for his time as That’s Life! host. Heiney performed a speaking role as a German mercenary commander in the 1985 film Water alongside Michael Caine as part of his duties for the television series In At The Deep End.

He worked as a reporter for Newsbeat on Radio 1 from 1974 to 1976, and from 1976 to 1978, he worked for the Today program on Radio 4. That’s Life! Marked his debut on television a part of the show until 1982. He appeared on BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours, The Travel Show, In At The Deep End, and Food and Drink. From 2009 to 2015, he also hosted the ITV primetime show Countrywise and the consumer affairs show Watchdog on BBC One.
Heiney and Melanie Sykes co-hosted a primetime genealogy show on ITV in September 2011 called Missing Millions. He has also presented eight half-hour programs about traditional farming called A Victorian Summer for Anglia Television: the glory of using horses to work the land as well as the challenges and hardships faced by Victorian farmers. He participated in the 2005 single-handed transatlantic OSTAR race in the family boat and wrote The Last Man Across The Atlantic about the race’s history and his own slow crossing.
