Shayna Seymour Biography

Shayna Seymour is a highly accomplished and talented Emmy award-winning journalist. She currently serves as the host of WCVB Channel 5’s Chronicle. Prior to becoming an anchor, Shayna served as a producer and a reporter for the Chronicle and co-anchor of WCVB’s weekend EyeOpener newscast. Having joined the station in 2006 Shayna has been awarded three Emmy awards and nominated for several others.

On weekdays Shayna acts as a filling-in anchor for the weekday evening newscasts. In 2015 she was awarded an Emmy award as co-host of WCVB’s telecast of the annual Holiday Lights tree lighting event. A bulldog of an interviewer Seymour has managed to interview a number of celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey. Before joining WCVB she served as a morning and evening anchors well as general assignment reporter at ABC affiliate WGGB-TV, Springfield.

While at WCGB she sharpened her reporting skills covering breaking news, health issues, and education. She was also the co-host of the MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon for WGGB.
