Siddhartha Mukherjee Biography

An Indian-American physician, scientist, and author with the name of Siddhartha Mukherjee. He is most known for his 2010 book The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer, which went on to win a number of prestigious literary awards, including the Guardian First Book Award and the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction.

Time magazine included the book in its 2011 list of the “All-Time 100 Nonfiction Books” (the 100 most significant nonfiction works of the previous century).

The Gene: An Intimate History, one of the New York Times’s top 100 books of 2016, was written by him. It was also a nominee for the Wellcome Trust Prize and the Royal Society Prize for Science Books.

Mukherjee studied biology at Stanford University after finishing his secondary education in India. He later earned a D.Phil. from Oxford University while a Rhodes Scholar and an M.D. from Harvard University.
