Stephen Whitney Baum Project Runway

Baum participated as a contestant on the fifth and final season of Project Runway, which aired on Bravo TV and premiered in 2008. Throughout the entirety of the Project Runway show, he spoke in the third person. Contestants were given the task of designing a red carpet look for “young Hollywood” in the second episode, “Grass is Always Greener,” but they were not allowed to purchase their own fabrics. The models of each contestant went to Mood Fabrics and picked out the fabrics that the designers would use to make their outfits. Suede prevailed in this challenge, which was partially judged by Natalie Portman, an actress and guest judge. This dress was made and sold on Bluefly.com in over 250 pieces. After reaching the top five, Suede was eliminated, but it was brought back to exhibit a collection during New York Fashion Week.
