Tim Willcox is a journalist from Britain who used to work for BBC News. He was in charge of presenting news programs on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel.
One of the most famous things he did was report live from Chile during the Copiapó mining accident. He was also the anchor for the BBC’s live daytime coverage during the early days of the Cairo January 2011 Egyptian revolution.

Willcox traveled to Chile in September 2010 to report on the efforts to save miners trapped underground after the Copiapó mining disaster for BBC News. He did detailed live coverage of the operation to get the trapped miners back to the surface in October 2010 and interviewed President Sebastián Piñera of Chile. He is to play himself in a movie about the mining accident in Copiapó and started filming in February 2014.
Willcox played an important part in covering the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March 2011, reporting live from the disaster zone for the BBC and then reporting from Libya on the 2011 Libyan Civil War only a few weeks later.
He still delivers daily services, including The Papers (the nightly paper review) and news bulletins on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel. Between 20:30 and 01:00 BST on Monday and Tuesday, as well as on Sunday afternoons (14:00 to 19:00 BST) on the BBC News Channel, he usually presents the evening slot on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel.

Tim Willcox Allegations of Antisemitism
Willcox has been charged with antisemitism for his on-air remarks twice. Willcox reported on 8 November 2014 that the Labor Party may lose support from Jewish sources because “all of these famous Jewish faces will be against the mansion tax very much.” The tax applies to a Labor plan for a supplementary property tax worth $3.5 million or more.
Following a rally of solidarity on 11 January 2015 after 17 people were killed in terrorist attacks in Paris, many of them Jews, Willcox, while interviewing a Jewish woman who explained that Jews live in fear in France, interrupted her saying, “But many, many, many opponents of Israel’s policies will indicate that the Palestinians still suffer greatly from Jewish hands.”
Many criticized this topic, including historian and BBC presenter Simon Schama, Jewish Chronicle editor Stephen Pollard, and the Movement Against Anti-Semitism, for assigning all Jews collective responsibility for Israel’s actions.
The woman was later named as the daughter of survivors of the Holocaust. The next day on Twitter, Willcox apologized, saying his question had been “poorly phrased”
