Trevor Noah is a South African stand-up comedian, television show host, political commentator, writer, actor, and producer. From September 2015 to September 2022, Trevor was the host of the American satirical news program The Daily Show on Comedy Central. From 2010 to 2011, Trevor hosted a similar late-night talk show in South Africa called Tonight with Trevor Noah. It used to be broadcast on DSTV and M-Net. He joined The Daily Show in 2014 as a Senior International Correspondent before taking over as host in 2015, succeeding Jon Stewart.

Noah was born in Johannesburg, Transvaal (now Gauteng), South Africa, on February 20, 1984. Robert, his father, is of Swiss-German ancestry, and Patricia Nombuyiselo Noah, his mother, is Xhosa. Noah’s mother was classified as Black under apartheid legislation, while his father was classified as White. Noah was classified as a Colored person.
Noah’s parents’ interracial relationship was illegal at the time of his birth, which he discusses in his autobiography. Trevor was raised by his mother and beloved late grandmother Nomalizo Frances in Soweto. Trevor’s dad left and Patricia got married and gave birth to two more kids; Andrew and Isaac. Trevor became a contributor to the show in December 2014. The network announced in March of the following year that the show’s host, Jon Stewart, would be stepping down and Trevor would take over as host. On September 28, 2015, he began his new job. Trevor Noah Career
Noah appeared in an episode of the South African soap opera Isidingo in 2002. Later, on Gauteng’s leading youth radio station, YFM, he hosted his own radio show Noah’s Ark. He gave up his radio show and acting career to focus on comedy, and has performed with South African comedians, international comedians such as Paul Rodriguez, Carl Barron, Dan Ilic, and Paul Zerdin, as well as as the opening act for American comedian Gabriel Iglesias on his South African tour in November 2007. Noah hosted the educational TV show Run the Adventure on SABC 2 from 2004 to 2006. In 2007, he hosted The Real Goboza, a gossip-themed show on SABC 1 as well as Siyadlala, a sports show on the same channel.
In 2009, he hosted the 3rd Annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) and co-hosted The Axe Sweet Life, a reality competition series, with Eugene Khoza. Noah hosted the 16th South African Music Awards in 2010, as well as Tonight with Trevor Noah on MNet (the second series was moved to DStv’s Mzansi Magic Channel). Noah also became a spokesperson and consumer advocate for Cell C, South Africa’s third-largest mobile phone network provider, in 2010. The same year, he starred in Trevor Noah: The Racist, a one-man comedy show based on his similarly titled South African special That’s Racist. Noah served as the Roastmaster in a Comedy Central roast of South African Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr in September 2012. Trevor Noah: African American was his comedy special in 2013. He appeared on BBC Two’s comedy panel show QI in October 2013.
He appeared as a panelist on Channel 4’s game show 8 Out of 10 Cats in November 2013. and appeared on Sean Lock’s team in September 2014 on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He made an appearance on the TV show Nashville in 2017. He appeared in Black Panther, Coming 2 America, and American Vandal in 2018.
