Zain Asher Biography
Zain Ejiofor Asher is a British Nigerian who’s currently living in NYC. She anchors for CNN International’s primetime news show One World, which happens to air weekdays at 12 pm ET.
She also hosts Marketplace Africa, which is CNNI’s weekly show about the continent and its place in global markets. Asher interviews CEOs and world leaders for the program.
She was at the helm of CNN’s special coverage of MyFreedomDay. A global call to action that put a light on modern-day slavery and other pressing world issues, like the death of Fidel Castro and boxing legend Muhammad Ali. She also anchored coverage around George Michael’s death and how it was mourned in different countries all over the world.
In addition to being CNN’s major breaking news anchor, she has reported on key stories like the 2014 kidnapping of the Nigerian schoolgirls by Muslim militants, and she closely followed what happened during Boston’s 2013 terrorist attack.
Also, Zain has been reporting on a lot of big developments concerning the trade war between the US and China, an explosion in Beirut in August 2020, anti-police violence protests in Nigeria, etc.

Ejiofor was born on July 10, 1977, in Forest Gate, London, England. He attended Dulwich College in South-East London.
