Zandile Nzalo is a Swaziland-born South African businesswoman and former radio presenter best known as the first wife of the late radio veteran Bob Mabena. Bob died on August 10 aged 51 years old after having heart complications. Zandile is also the founder and CEO of ZANENZA Holdings, a public relations agency a communications company that was initially focused on PR and communications.
Asa young girl in Swaziland in the 1980’s Zandile was greatly inspired by music and she believed that she would one day become a Musician. However, her dream never came true, but she, however, branched into radio. She moved to Johannesburg and was lucky enough to land her own shows on the former Radio Bop and Bop TV. But it was in 1997 that her career took a major turn when Channel O, Africa’s first 24-hour music channel on DSTV was established. She was the general manager of the station for three years.
In 2002 following her very successful time at Channel O she began her public relations agency, Zanenza Communications, . Initially, the company solely focused on PR and communications and had her own backyard cottage were the company’s headquarters, but she, later on, moved it to Randburg. It was the addition of an events management division and, a few years later in 2014, a décor hire component, that gave Zanzena a chance to plan and execute major events for huge organizations, such as The Department of Human Settlements, PIC and the National Empowerment Fund (NEF).
