She moved to News 9 as a reporter in December of 2010. Before joining the station in Oklahoma, she was up the highway where she spent 13 years as a reporter and anchor in Wichita, Kansas. She grew up in Colorado but has deep roots in Oklahoma where her great grandfather supposed to own land. Her great grandfather was a member of the Oklahoma territory landowner. She was honored to receive her first job in television broadcasting at KOAM-TV in Joplin, Missouri as an American anchor and reporter.
She knew of her first taste of the news business while serving at a radio station in 1990 when she covered a tornado that erases the downtown of Limon, Colorado.
Dana spent the whole year at WTVW in Evansville, Indiana prior to joining Wichita. She served for both Fox and the NBC affiliate KSN-TV covering stories including the BTK serial killer, the Greensburg tornado, and, the assassination of abortion provider Dr. George Tiller.
She has been recognized with several awards from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters since joining the station, the Oklahoma Society of Professional Journalists, and numerous Kansas Association of Broadcaster Awards for her coverage of the Greensburg tornado and an investigation into the state’s child care system.
