David Rockwell Biography
American architect and designer David Rockwell. He is the founder and president of the Rockwell Group, a 250-person, a multidisciplinary architecture and design firm with locations in Los Angeles and Madrid.
A board member of Citymeals-on-Wheels, the New York Restoration Project, and the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA), Rockwell now holds the position of Chair Emeritus.
Additionally, Imagination Playground, a play area intended to inspire kids to collaborate and create their own play worlds, was created and developed by Rockwell as a free service.
The first site-specific venue debuted in conjunction with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation in Burling Slip in Manhattan in 2010 after five years of research on kids and play.
