She co-created and co-starred in the Comedy Central series Broad City, which is based on the web series of the same name, with Abbi Jacobson. Glazer began performing stand-up comedy while attending theatre school. She joined the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in 2006 before moving on to stand-up comedy and improv. She collaborated with Abbi Jacobson to create the web series Broad City in 2009. They are also the main actresses in the series as fictionalized versions of themselves. It received a lot of positive feedback and was nominated for an ECNY Award for ‘Best Web Series’. Amy Poehler, an American actress and comedian, was intrigued by the web series and met with Glazer and Ms. Jacobson, agreeing to appear in the series’ finale as well as assist the duo in shopping a pilot script based on the series.
The three ladies successfully developed the pilot script, and with Poehler as producer, the FX cable network purchased the script but decided not to proceed with development. After that, Jacobson and Glazer approached Comedy Central, which purchased the script from FX and ordered a pilot.
Broad City debuted on television in January 2014. It received a lot of positive feedback, and the show was renewed for a second season in February 2014. The third season premiered on February 17, 2016, and the fourth and fifth final seasons were announced in early 2016.

Ilana Glazer has also appeared in a number of short films as an actress. Among them are ‘Guess’ (2011), ‘Nature Boys’ (2012), and ‘Little Horribles’ (2013). (2013).
