John comes from Sedalia, Missouri, where he first discovered his love for weather. Growing up between two open fields, John spent a lot of time watching storms roll in. Prior to joining the News 3 Weather Team, John learned the ropes of broadcast television at KOMU in Columbia, Missouri. Furthermore, he is skilled in conversational communication, forecasting, weather production, video editing, storytelling, and social media.
He has also provided customer assistance through maintaining product knowledge in multiple departments, and general customer service. John acquired product knowledge, interacted with an array of customers, and maintained a clean and professional workplace.
He loves to spend his spare time exploring local restaurants, visiting the gym to enable his first hobby, and searching for nature’s beauty in and around southern Illinois. Ross is also a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, but splits his allegiance evenly between the Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals.
