Nick Hausen is an American broadcast meteorologist and multimedia journalist currently working as a Weekday Morning Meteorologist at WSIL-TV3. Prior to joining the News 3 Weather Team, he gained valuable knowledge at KOMU along with an internship at KPLR in St. Louis. He came to WSIL in June of 2011.

Nick is no stranger to the different varieties of weather in the Mid-Mississippi and Lower Ohio Valley growing up just a short distance away in Festus, Missouri. Prior to becoming a part of the News 3 Weather Team, he gained valuable knowledge at KOMU along with an internship at KPLR in St. Louis. As part of the Mizzou Storm Chase Team, he even witnessed an EF-5 tornado in Oklahoma in 2011.
He was honored to hold the prestigious American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (#742). In his professional experience, he has covered multiple deadly tornado outbreaks, blizzards, and record flash flooding on-air and in the field. As the station’s severe storm expert, he becomes known for his knowledgeable, calm personality on-air during high-pressure situations. Whether on-air or on social media, he has built one of the largest Facebook and Twitter followings in the market.
Nick has extensive experience one-man-band reporting on a variety of news stories including live shots. A veteran and the “go-to” for story contacts in the newsroom. He also understands building relationships, developing contacts, and finding story ideas. His first love is the weather, Nick is often spending time in the outdoors, hiking or duck and goose hunting with his family.
