But things took a turn when Niall got into trouble again and his parents sent him to work on an oil rig with his grandpa. It was there that he learned to focus and study, while also working alongside his brother. But one day, he had a freak accident and injured his quadriceps so bad that they pulled off the femur bone. Six months of physical therapy later, Niall was back on his feet, but he also saw another man lose his legs.

Realizing that he needed a change of pace, Niall left the oil fields and moved to Vancouver to pursue his dream of acting. He got a job as a bartender, but he knew he couldn’t tell his parents the truth. So he lied and said he was still working on the oil rig.
