Volodymyr Zelensky is a Ukrainian politician, actor, a comedian, and a producer who won the presidential election, 2019. However, he is the first president of Ukraine to be elected without any prior political experience. President Volodymyr is the sixth president of Ukraine and is currently in office.
Zelensky was born on January 25th, 1978, in Ukraine. He is in his mid-40s and grew up as a native Russian speaker in Kryvyi Rih, a major city in Central Ukraine. His father was a computer science professor, and his mother was an engineer.
After obtaining his degree from the Kyiv National Economic University. He pursued comedy and create the company Kvartal 95. This company produced TV shows, movies and cartoons with Servant of the People being their most successful production.
The show, Servant of the People, has aired since 2015 to 2019 and it was hugely popular. Interestingly, In March 2018, a political party with the same name was created by employees of Kvartal 95.
In the New Year’s Eve address, Zelensky formally announced his candidacy in the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election and called on citizens to vote for him on New Year’s Day.
A man without any political experience, he has been supported by a large portion of the public and was already one of the front runners in the opinion polls. Zelenskyy won with 73.23%, defeating Poroshenko.
Zelensky promised that he would fight corruption, confront Ukraine’s oligarchs, and end the war in Donbass.

At 16 years old, he passed the Test of English as a Foreign Language and received an education grant to receive a degree in Israel, but his father refused to allow him.
Although Zelensky graduated with a law degree from the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics, then a department of Kyiv National Economic University, currently, Kryvyi Rih National University, he has never practiced law.

During the last few hours of 2018, Zelensky made a declaration to run for office, but nobody knew what experience he had. In his 3 proposals, Zelensky vowed to fight corruption, confront Ukraine’s oligarchs and put an end to the bloodshed in Donbass.

Furthermore, Zelenskyy’s administration already had risen tensions with Russia in 2021 and it culminated in a full-scale Russian invasion into Ukraine.
The president originally said he didn’t want any trouble, but now he’s asking NATO for military support and guarantees to help withstand whatever is coming.
After the start of the invasion, Zelenskyy declared martial law across Ukraine and a general mobilization of the armed forces. His leadership during the crisis has won him widespread international admiration, and he has been described as a symbol of national defiance to Russian aggression.

Volodymyr Zelensky Comedy
Volodymr became a member of his local KVN team when he was 17, and later joined the United Ukrainian team(“Zaporizhia-Kryvyi Rih-Transit”) that competed in Major League. Furthermore, in 1997, they won the competition.
In 1997, Zelensky created and headed the Kvartal 95 team, which later transformed into the comedy group Kvartal 95. From 1998 to 2003, the Kvartal 95 team played in the major league and in Ukrainian KVN. Also, members of the team spent a significant amount of time touring Moscow and even exploring post-Soviet countries.
